Rajesh Mishra, the government-appointed special counsel, said that the District Judge Sanjeev Shukla’s court will not issue any further orders in the Gyanvapi case. The court heard a petition for the replacement of the torn cloth covering the sealed toilet lock at Gyanvapi.

Mishra stated that the court noted that the Supreme Court is continuing to hear the provisions of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991. In this regard, on December 12, 2024, the apex court ordered subordinate and lower courts not to accept any new cases or pass any orders that would impact the Supreme Court hearings.

The court further stated that the district magistrate may complete the process with the mutual consent of both parties. This means that the torn clothes can be replaced with the consent of both parties.
